Bremer County Snow Plow Crashes into Pickup Killing the Driver
An accident involving a Bremer County snowplow has taken the life of a Nebraska motorist.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, it happened shortly after 10am Monday (Feb. 1) at the intersection of C-33 and U.S. Highway 218, northwest of Waverly.
A pickup, driven by 33 year old Jenrry Madrid-Sorto of Columbus, Nebraska, was northbound on 218, when an eastbound county snowplow, driven by 22 year old Trevor Byram of Waverly, failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of C-33 and 218.
Madrid-Sorto died from his injuries. Byram was not hurt.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Bremer County Sheriff, Plainfield Fire and EMS, and Iowa Motor Vehicle Enforcement.
