A blown front tire is apparently the cause of a weekend accident, that put a utility truck into a creek.

Just after 1pm Saturday (Jan. 9), Linn County authorities were sent to an accident scene along Highway 151, east of Marion. A vehicle reportedly went off the road and rolled, coming to rest in a body of water.

The utility truck, driven by 56 year old Daniel Utecht of Campbellsport, Wisconsin, went out of control, entered a ditch, then rolled onto it's side, stopping when it entered a body of water.

The truck came to a halt before going under the water. Utecht was extricated from the vehicle, evaluated, and determined to be uninjured.

The accident was investigated by the Linn County Sheriff's Office, with assistance by the Marion Fire Department, Marion Rescue, Area Ambulance Service, Lifeguard Air Ambulance service and Linn County Hazmat.
