Blaze Destroys Westgate Home, Ignites Propane Tanks
Authorities are looking for the cause of a weekend fire that destroyed a home in Westgate.
Firefighters were called out shortly after 3am Sunday (Oct. 21) to a home in the 300 block of Cass Street South in Westgate, a house owned by David Algyre.
According to sources, Algyre lived in the home alone, with his dog. He was able to escape the house unharmed with his pet.
The blaze was extremely dangerous, as it ignited some nearby propane tanks, which exploded. No injuries were reported.
The fire destroyed the home and all of it's contents.
The origin of the blaze is still under investigation.
