A long time had passed since Young Arena had last come to life and transformed itself into "PartyTown". But the party on Friday night got crashed by the visitors from Sioux Falls. On Saturday night, Waterloo fell behind in the Dupaco Cowbell Cup Series with a loss at Dubuque.

The Black Hawks now find themselves in a very rare situation, last place in the Western Conference with a record of 1-3 and only 2 points. First place, Fargo has played 9 games, and are 7-1-1 with 15 points. Obviously, it's really early in the season, and the team has seen six of their games get re-scheduled.

FRIDAY NIGHT vs. SIOUX FALLS
On Friday night, the Black Hawks took to the ice for the first time in three weeks, playing in front of an exclusive crowd of season-ticket holders and parents of players because of COVID-19 restrictions. The Sioux Falls Stampede scratched out Friday’s only goal early in the third period to edge the Waterloo 1-0. The Stampede's Dan Russell produced the decisive tally on a rebound from just outside the crease. Stampede goalie Trent Burnham stopped all of the Hawks' chances for a 25-save shutout. Waterloo's netminder Jack Williams took the loss despite 26 saves.

SATURDAY NIGHT AT DUBUQUE
The Dubuque Fighting Saints scored three times during a 2:45 span in the first period on Saturday, and the sequence proved to be the difference during a 5-3 result against the Black Hawks at the Mystique Ice Center. Waterloo's Owen Ozar had two goals on the night, along with one from John Waldron. Waterloo outshot Dubuque 30-27, but 27 saves by Aidan McCarthy produced the Saints’ first victory of the season. The Hawks' Jack Williams and Charlie Glockner combined to stop 22 of 27 shots.

2 HOME GAMES THIS WEEKEND
The Black Hawks are scheduled to return home against the Green Bay Gamblers Friday at 7:05pm and host the Sioux City Musketeers on Saturday night at 6:05pm.
