Black Hawk County Sets Up Childcare Response Team
Although many businesses have closed and many parents are working from home or will be working from home until further notice due to the Coronavirus, there are still many parents whom are essential to the care and support of our community who have to go into work. With schools being closed this leaves them in a predicament with their children.
Whether it is finding someone to babysit their kids, worrying about their kids getting a meal or just needing a little help, many parents who are still going into work every day are looking for some help with their kids... this is where the Black Hawk County Childcare Response team comes in.
According to KWWL, the Black Hawk County COVID-19 Childcare Response Team has been created in order to relieve some stress on parents with kids at home while they have to go to work. Those who need some extra support must fall under these assessments:
"ATTENTION: Essential personnel supporting the health and safety of our community during COVID-19 who have current, emerging or potential childcare needs.
Schools, community organizations, and employers are mobilizing to support ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL, which includes hospital staff, healthcare providers, direct care staff (i.e. nursing homes, etc), government personnel essential to infrastructure (public safety, public health, child protection services, etc), emergency responders, and employees in food supply (grocery, restaurant, etc).
If you know someone who is considered essential and has childcare needs, please share this important survey with them."
