A motorcyclist who crashed his bike into a parked car at a campground over the weekend, faces several charges after he hid his motorcycle from authorities, then assaulted the doctor who was treating him.

The incident began at about 7pm Saturday (July 27) when the Buchanan County Sheriff's Office received a report of a motorcycle that collided with a parked vehicle at a campground along the Wapsipinicon River near Quasqueton.

The motorcyclist, identified as 35 year old David Throndson of Center Point, refused to cooperate with deputies and tell them where the bike was hidden. The responding officers found the motorcycle, stashed in the back of a pickup.

After being taken into custody, Throndson is accused of spitting on the squad car, and head-butting the car's cage. That incident required a trip to the Buchanan County Health Center in Independence. He also had a bowel movement in the back seat.

While in a hospital bed, Throndson kicked a doctor trying to treat him, several times.

He is being charged with Operating While Intoxicated-2nd Offense, Assault with Injury on Persons Engaged in Certain Occupations, Public Intoxication, and Harassment of a Public Official.
Throndson was also cited for Reckless Driving, Operation without Registration, Failure to Maintain Control and Failure to Provide Proof of Insurance.
