The furniture giant closing all of its stores, joining many other once massive businesses has 328 locations in the U.S. including two in Eastern Iowa.

American Freight is set to shutter all of its stores.
Why Is The Company Shutting Down?
The furniture chain announced the impending closing after its parent company Franchise Group Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Franchise Group Inc. was motivated to close down American Freight because they'd like to focus on more profitable brands they operate like, The Vitamin Shoppe, Pet Supplies Plus, and Buddy's Home Furnishings.

We have two locations in Iowa, both in Eastern Iowa, including one in Waterloo.
- Waterloo: 2060 Sovia Dr. Ste 112 Waterloo, IA 50702
- Davenport: 1010 E. Kimberly Rd. Davenport, IA 52807
The exact timetable for these, or any locations closing has not yet been made clear. However, the company is offering customers massive discounts on its website to help liquidate products.
