The lawyers for a Northeast Iowa farmer, accused of failing to stay at the scene of a deadly traffic accident, have been turned down in their request to postpone the sentencing.

37 year old Chris Soules of rural Arlington was made famous for his television appearances on The Bachelor and Dancing with the Stars. In April of 2017, Soules crashed into the back of a tractor in rural Buchanan County, killing the driver, 66 year old Kenny Mosher.

Soules waited for emergency workers and did provide aid to Mosher at the scene of the accident, but left before law enforcement arrived.

Soules pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of Leaving the Scene of a Serious Injury Accident, and was to be sentenced in Buchanan County Court this Tuesday (May 21).

However, Soules' attorneys asked the judge for more time to prepare, because of the prosecution's lack of response to a motion regarding a presentence investigation.
Soules could be sentenced to 2 years in prison when he appears in court tomorrow.
