Authorities Discover Stolen Truck in a Ditch Near Floyd

The Floyd County Sheriff is investigating an incident in which a stolen truck was found in a ditch.

Shortly after 6am last Wednesday (Aug. 1), the sheriff was called out on the report of a truck found in the ditch off Highway 218, north of Floyd.

An investigation revealed that the truck had been stolen from a rural Floyd business. The business, and a nearby residence, were also burglarized.

Authorities found the suspect, a runaway juvenile from Orchard, after a brief search of a corn field, south of Floyd at about 7:30am.

The juvenile was taken to a local detention center. The investigation continues, and charges are still pending.
