Attempted Abduction of Girl in Delaware County

Authorities are cautioning parents after an attempted abduction was reported in Earlville.
The incident happened late Tuesday (May 31) afternoon, about 5pm.

A man with dark curly hair, wearing a plaid shirt and dark or black vest or jacket, was driving a silver or gray 4-door car.

The suspect offered an 11 year old girl $100.00, and asked her to get into his vehicle to help him with something. The girl had just left the pool, and was riding her bike; she refused the offer and left.

If anyone has information on the suspect, or the incident, they are urged to call the Delaware County Sheriff, at 563-927-3135.

The sheriff also asks parents to remind their children about Stranger Danger, and report all incidents as soon as possible to local authorities.
