Arrests Made in Strong Arm Robbery at Rest Stop

Johnson County authorities have arrested three suspects from Ohio, accused of a strong-arm robbery at an interstate rest stop, south of Tiffin.

At about 8:45am Tuesday (July 30), deputies were called to a reported strong-arm robbery at the westbound Tiffin rest area on Interstate 80. The victims of the incident, who live in another state, were restrained by their assailants, and their cash was forcibly removed.

The suspects were stopped on the interstate, about 20 miles from the scene.

The suspects were identified as 35 year old Adam Smith, 40 year old Robert Chandler, and 48 year old Jerry Chandler Jr., all of Cincinnati, Ohio. All three are charged with Robbery in the 2nd Degree.
