Arrests for Credit Card Theft, and Harassment

A local woman has been arrested after a two-month investigation into a stolen credit card.

The Fayette County Sheriff had received a report on Nov. 4th of 2017 of a credit card stolen from a rural Oelwein location.
On December 19th, the sheriff got a tip from a witness, that the stolen card had been used at several area businesses.

Following a long investigation, 34 year old Crystal Howard of Oelwein was charged with Burglary-3rd Degree, and Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card.

And a Hawkeye man was arrested Friday night, Jan. 19, after authorities received multiple complaints of harassment in the Hawkeye area. 53 year old Brian Coonradt was taken into custody for Harassment-3rd Degree and Extortion. He was held in the Fayette County jail until his initial court appearance.
