Arrests After 2 Traffic Stops in Oelwein

Oelwein Police have made an early morning arrest following a traffic stop.

At about 5:30am today (Wednesday, Feb. 8), officers pulled over a car in the 2100 block of Highway 150 South. The driver, 32 year old Jose Rosales of Oelwein, was arrested on a charge of Driving While his License is Barred.

Shortly after 5am this morning, Oelwein Police stopped a car in the 400 block of 1st Avenue SE. The driver, 48 year old George Kirkbride of Hazleton, was cited for Driving While his License is Suspended.

And an Oelwein woman has been arrested on an outstanding warrant. Just after noon on Tuesday (Feb. 7), 57 year old Cathy Wright was taken into custody on a Fayette County warrant for Contempt of Court; the original charge was Violation of a No-contact Order. The arrest was made after an interaction with officers in the 500 block of Rock Island Road.
