A Northeast Iowa man may be spending the rest of his life behind bars, for allegedly kidnapping a minor, with the intent of sexually abusing her.

Following a week-long joint sex abuse investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office and the Clayton County Sheriff's Office, 61 year old Charles Lockard of Volga was taken into custody.

Lockard is accused of abducting a 13 year old girl, to sexually abuse her.
The Clayton County Sheriff is charging Lockard with Sex Abuse in the 3rd Degree.
In Fayette County, Lockard is being held on $100,000 bond, for the charge of Kidnapping-First Degree, plus a charge of Sexual Abuse in the Third Degree.

A conviction for kidnapping in Iowa carries a mandatory sentence of Life in Prison.
According to the Fayette County Sheriff, the investigation continues and more charges are possible.
