Area Women Arrested in Prostitution Sting

Two Oelwein women have been arrested in a prostitution sting.

After a lengthy investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, 29 year old Mistie Marie Schmidt was arrested for Pimping, and 28 year old Sandra Louise McMurrin was taken into custody on several counts of prostitution.

According to the sheriff, McMurrin and Schmidt had advertised for escort services on an internet site called "The Back Page", which was determined to be a cover-up site for prostitution. The two would meet potential clients in several surrounding cities, as well as at their residence in Oelwein.

Both women were held in the Fayette County jail on $5,000 bond.

The investigation continues, and more charges and arrests are possible.
