Area Police Department Faces Second Lawsuit
A Northeast Iowa law enforcement agency that is facing a sexual harassment lawsuit filed by a former officer, is now facing another lawsuit, filed by another former officer who is gay.
Daniel Moore, a former reserve officer with the West Union Police Department, claims another officer made negative comments about the LGBTQ community.
Moore also states in his lawsuit, that he informed Police Chief Paul Becthold of the incident, but was allegedly retaliated against, and told he could no longer work for the department.
Moore is suing the City of West Union, Police Chief Becthold, and the city administrator over the anti-gay remarks.
The court documents also cite the sexual harassment lawsuit filed in May, by former police officer Sierra Fox, also against the West Union Police Chief.
