Area Motorist Drives into Ditch, Totals Car

The Fayette County Sheriff was called out to investigate a one-vehicle accident near the city of Fayette, Monday evening.

It happened at about 6:30pm on 152nd Street, east of Highway 150. A car driven by 23 year old Jay Bruce of Fayette, went out of control, spun around in the roadway, then entered the ditch, coming to rest on the passenger side.

The car, a 2006 Chevy Cobalt, was considered a total loss.

Bruce was not hurt; he is being charged with Failure to Provide Security Against Liability.

The Fayette Fire Department assisted the Fayette County Sheriff at the scene.
