A Castalia man is jailed in Winneshiek County on illegal drug charges.

The incident began on August 11, when the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at a home on Greene Street in Castalia. The warrant was issued following a lengthy investigation.

After the search, charges were filed against 23 year old Michael Root, however he was not at the house at the time of the search. A warrant was then issued for his arrest on a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance.
