A Northeast Iowa man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison, for allegedly giving and receiving sexually explicit pictures from minors, using internet social sites.

38 year old Gregory German of Lamont, appeared in Buchanan County District Court on Tuesday (April 9), where he received a sentence of 10 years in prison. German had pleaded guilty in February to Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.

Authorities from the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation/Iowa Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, received a cyber tip from Facebook about German.
The tip indicated that German appeared to be using the internet to entice a child for sexual acts. German had requested and received 15 pornographic images of the young girl.

Authorities issued a search warrant served on Facebook, which indicated German asked the child her age, and she responded that she was 14. He then solicited the explicit photos.

In August of 2015, the Iowa DCI and Buchanan County Sheriff executed a search warrant at German's home in Lamont, and confiscated all of his electronic devices. German admitted to soliciting 10 to 15 girls under the age of 16 through Facebook, for sexually explicit photos.

German also sent some of the girls pictures of his genitals. He was arrested and charged in November of 2017.

On Tuesday (April 9), German was sentenced to 10 years in prison, will be placed on the sex offender registry, and will remain under supervision for the rest of his life.
