Area Man Faces Up to 10 Years in Prison for 5th OWI
A Southwest Wisconsin man has been charged with operating while intoxicated for the fifth time, and faces some very serious consequences.
A vehicle driven by 54 year old Daniel Carroll of Prairie du Chien, was stopped after police witnessed his vehicle speed across a Prairie du Chien intersection, squealing it's tires.
The officer caught up with Carroll when he stopped in a driveway. An investigation determined that Carroll was Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated.
Carroll had 4 previous convictions of the OWI charge.
If he is convicted in this 5th case, Carroll could be sentenced to 10 years in prison and fined $25,000.
