
Area Man Faces Charge After Accident is Investigated
A Northeast Iowa man is now being charged following the investigation into a one-vehicle accident near Waverly from earlier this week.
At about 3:45am Tuesday (July 17), the Bremer County Sheriff received a report of a vehicle in the ditch off Highway 218.
Officers determined that 43 year old Brian Streich of Waverly was driving southbound on the Highway 218 on-ramp, when his vehicle's wheels dropped onto the shoulder and he lost control. His car then left the road and struck 2 signs. No injuries were reported.
Further investigation by the Bremer County Sheriff has led to the arrest of Streich for Operating While Intoxicated-2nd Offense, and Failure to Maintain Control.
Waverly Police and Waverly Ambulance assisted the sheriff's department at the scene.
