Area Man Arrested for Weekend Domestic Assault

Fayette County authorities have arrested a Maynard man following an assault incident.

Just before 8:30pm Sunday (Jan. 31), a report of a domestic disturbance was received by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.

The incident happened at a home at 255 1st Street South in Maynard.

Responding deputies took 59 year old Randy Thorp into custody, charging him with Domestic Abuse Assault.

Thorp was held in the Fayette County jail until his initial court appearance.
