A Northeast Iowa man has been arrested following a routine traffic stop in Fayette County.

The incident happened at about 12:30am Monday (Feb. 26), in Clermont. A Fayette County deputy stopped a vehicle for a driving infraction. During the stop, it was confirmed that the motorist, 51 year old Danny Huffman of Clermont, was driving while his license was barred. Huffman was taken to jail on charges of Driving While his License is Barred, and Failure to have SR22 Insurance on File.

The Fayette County Sheriff is investigating a one vehicle accident that happened Thursday evening, southeast of Fayette. 20 year old Halvor Johnson of McGregor, was driving westbound on Kornhill road, when, due to the weather conditions, his vehicle slid off the road and into the ditch, striking a utility pole. No one was injured. There was $5,000 damage to the 1990 Dodge truck.
