Area Man Arrested After Driving into Ditch

A Northeast Iowa man faces several charges following a weekend accident.

Fayette County deputies responded Saturday afternoon to a report of a vehicle in the ditch, east of Westgate, near the intersection of "S" Avenue and 100th Street.

During the investigation, the driver, 34 year old Brian Fullhart of Decorah, became confrontational with the deputies.

He was then arrested on charges of Public Intoxication-Third Offense, Interference with official acts with bodily injury, Criminal Mischief Third Degree, and two counts Assault on a peace officer.

Fullhart was taken to the Fayette County jail, and held until his initial court appearance. The incident is still under investigation.
