An eastern Iowa man is in custody, after leading several law enforcement agencies on a weekend chase.

The incident happened Saturday afternoon on Highway 20, between Dyersville and Farley. Officers from the Dyersville Police Department, Dubuque Sheriff's Office, and New Vienna Police, pursued an eastbound car driven by 31 year old Melvin Liggins of Manchester.

Liggins refused to pull over for the officers, leading them on an 80 mile an hour chase on Highway 20. Liggins' vehicle apparently struck another car, but no injuries were reported.

Officers were able to put stop sticks down on the pavement west of Farley, and the chase soon came to an end when Liggin's tires were flattened.
Liggins is charged with Eluding, OWI-2nd Offense, and Driving While Revoked. He was held on $5,000 cash bond.

In February, Liggins was arrested in the Manchester Walmart parking lot for driving while intoxicated, possession of a controlled Substance, and Interference with Official Acts.
