Area Hospital Receives a Phoned-in Threat
The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office is investigating a threat that was called in to the local hospital.
Just before 6pm Saturday, the Winneshiek County Medical Center in Decorah received a threat via telephone.
There was no word on what was said during the threat.
The hospital immediately reported the incident to the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office. The sheriff noted that there is no immediate safety concern to the patients, staff or the public.
The hospital, including the emergency room, remained open and continues to accept patients.
The sheriff's office is working with other law enforcement agencies in the investigation.
