Area Farmer Is Hospitalized After Being Run Over by His Own Tractor
A local farmer has been seriously hurt in an accident, in which he was run over by his own tractor.
The Fayette County Sheriff received a 911 call at about 11:30am Wednesday (May 6), reporting that a man had been run over by a tractor, in the 27,000 block of Muskrat Road, just northwest of West Union.
The investigation determined that 60 year old Terry Lauer of West Union, was driving a 6270 Massey Ferguson tractor, when he stopped and got out. The tractor then rolled backward, running Lauer over.
He was initially taken to the West Union hospital, then Air Lifted to Gunderson Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. There was no report on his current condition.
The Fayette County Sheriff was assisted in the investigation by the West Union Police Department, Iowa DNR, and Tri-State Ambulance.
