Area Driver Killed When Pickup Hits Barn and Tree

The Iowa State Patrol is investigating a deadly one-vehicle accident in Delaware County, in which a pickup went through a barn and struck a tree.

It happened at about 6pm Wednesday (Oct. 18), just north of Masonville, on 210th Street.

An eastbound pickup truck left the road, crashed through a barn, then struck a tree when it came out the other side.

The driver of the 2006 Ford F-150, identified as 30 year old Christopher Gudenkauf of Masonville, died from his injuries.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, Gudenkauf was not wearing a seatbelt.

The Delaware County Sheriff assisted at the scene.
