Another industry in Northeast Iowa has come a little closer to expanding and adding more jobs.
Transco Railway Products, which repairs and cleans rail cars, is expanding it's operation on the northwest side of Oelwein.

After it was learned that the company would be eligible for Enterprise Zone and other benefits, efforts were made to get the entire operation within the city limits of Oelwein. To do that, a portion of the land on which the company resides, would have to be annexed into the city limits.

After getting the "OK" from Fayette County Supervisors, Transco then approached the Oelwein City Council.

At it's regular meeting Monday night, the council voted 6-0 to approve the annexation process. The council also received a letter of support from the county board of supervisors.
