Accident Near Hawkeye Under Investigation

Authorities are investigating the cause of a one-vehicle accident in rural Fayette County.

At about 5:15pm Wednesday (Dec. 30), the Fayette County Sheriff received a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Rose Road and 230th Street, just north of Hawkeye.

A vehicle driven by 31 year old Cory O'Dell of West Union ran off the road, into the ditch. O'Dell and his passenger were not injured. The vehicle, a 2005 Honda Odyssey, did not sustain any damages.

The accident remains under investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.
