Accident Between Semi and Anhydrous Tanks Investigated

The Buchanan County Sheriff is investigating an accident involving a semi, and tanks hauling anhydrous ammonia.

It happened at about 4pm Friday (June 2), just southwest of Independence on Henley Avenue.

Keven Barron of Manchester was driving a pickup, hauling anhydrous tanks, when one of the tanks was rear-ended by a semi driven by Theodore Thome.

No one was injured. The semi entered the ditch, and there was damage to both vehicles. Charges had not yet been filed.

The Independence Fire Department and Buchanan County Emergency Management assisted the sheriff at the accident scene.
