
A NE Iowa Motorist is Charged in a Weekend Traffic Crash
An area man is being charged with causing a two-vehicle accident near West Union.
It happened just before 1pm Sunday (Feb. 7) at the intersection of Juniper Road and 240th Street, just north of West Union.
A car driven by 57 year old Larry Smith of Clermont, pulled out from a stop sign and collided with a car driven by 21 year old Maria Streif of West Union, causing her car to go into the ditch.

No one was injured, but Smith's 1997 Nissan Maxima was totaled, and Streif's 2014 Chevy Impala had $3,000 worth of damage.
Smith is being charged with Failing to Yield Upon Entering a Through Highway.
