A Northeast Iowa man has been sentenced to 60 years in prison for the alleged sexual assault of at least 2 young children.

36 year old Leroy Kula Junior of Arlington was given the sentence Monday in Iowa District Court, at the Fayette County Courthouse in West Union.

Kula was convicted of 2 counts of sexual abuse in the 2nd degree and 2 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Kula was arrested on October 31st of 2014, following a week-long investigation into accusations that Kula had performed sex acts on at least 2 girls at his Arlington home.

Kula also allegedly recorded videos and took photos of at least 2 girls. The victims in question were 4, 5 and 6 years old.

The investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office has also led to more charges of sexual exploitation of a minor in Poweshiek County, plus additional charges in Fayette County.

Kula will be turned over to the Iowa Department of Corrections, where he will begin serving his 60 year sentence.
