Three people have been injured, in an accident involving a car and a semi in Winneshiek County.


According to the Iowa State Patrol, it happened at about 7:30am Wednesday, south of Calmar on Highway 24.

A northbound car driven by 62 year old Mary Hegg of Decorah, crossed the center line of the highway, colliding with the front driver's side and rear dual wheels of a southbound semi driven by 61 year old David Fadness of Decorah.

Three occupants of Hegg's car were injured: Mary Hegg was taken by Air Care to Gunderson Hospital, 63 year old John Hegg was taken to the Winneshiek County Hospital, and a minor child, whose name was not released, was treated at an area hospital.

There was no word on the condition of any of the injured.

The accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
