3 Busted in Nashua After Dog Abuse Investigation

Three people have been arrested in Nashua, in connection with animal abuse.

Nashua Police were called out Wednesday, March 7, on the report of a domestic dispute at a residence on Wentling Street. While officers were looking into the matter, a bystander told them that the homeowner's dog was missing and possibly being stored in a basement freezer.

A search warrant was executed the next day (March 8); police recovered the dead dog's body, taking it to the Iowa State University Veterinary Diagnostic Lab.

Another dog was confiscated from the home and taken to a veterinary clinic for an examination. That canine was then taken to an animal shelter in New Hampton.

Police arrested Jennifer Hoffman on a charge of Child Endangerment; Anthony Hoffman was charged with Child Endangerment, Animal Abuse, 3 counts of Possession of Methamphetamine and other substances, Unlawful Possession of a Prescription Drug, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

And Christopher Dunn was arrested for Child Endangerment, Animal Abuse, 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Prescription Medication, and Drug Paraphernalia.

According to Nashua Police, the case remains under investigation, and more charges are possible.
