The Fayette County Sheriff has arrested 2 Mason City men for driving to the county jail to visit an inmate, both using suspended licenses.


53 year old Larry Smith and 49 year old Kelly Waslick were taken into custody at the Fayette County Sheriff's office. Smith had driven a vehicle to the jail to visit an inmate, using a suspended driver's license.

Waslick took the vehicle while Smith was visiting the inmate; he drove out of the parking lot, and returned later to pick up Smith.

Authorities determined Waslick also had a suspended license. The two were booked into the Fayette County jail, charged with Driving While License is Suspended.
The incident happened last Saturday (April 28).

And Polk County authorities have arrested a West Union man, wanted on an outstanding warrant. 43 year old Twayne Deering was taken into custody Monday (April 30). The warrant was for Failure to Appear, on the original charge of Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations/Police Officer. Deering was released on $500 bond.
