2 Juveniles Charged with Arson Fires in Oelwein

Oelwein Police have filed charges against two juveniles, for their involvement in 2 recent house fires.

The fires happened in the 100 block of 4th Avenue NE in Oelwein, on September 14th. Fire crews determined that the blaze began in a garage and spread to the home; it then spread to a neighboring house to the south.

No one was injured, but the homes were totaled.

Following an investigation, authorities determined the fire was intentionally set.

2 juveniles, both under the age of 14, have been referred to Juvenile Court Services for Arson-2nd Degree.

The suspects' names were not released.
