2 Hurt in Clayton County Traffic Accident

Two people have been injured in a traffic accident in Clayton County.
It happened at about 10:30am Thursday (Dec. 29) at the intersection of Highway 52 and 205th Street, east of St. Olaf.

A southbound car on 52 driven by 21 year old Ariel Laine of Dubuque, turned right onto 205th Street, then attempted a u-turn on the highway, in front of another southbound car, driven by 31 year old Belinda Werner of Prairie du Chien. Werner's car collided with Laine's vehicle.

Both drivers were taken to the Guttenberg Hospital with unspecified injuries.

Laine is being charged with Failure to Yield Upon Making a Left Turn.

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Clayton County Sheriff, St. Olaf Fire and Rescue, Farmersburg Fire and Rescue, and MarMac EMS.
