An Oelwein man, wanted for a burglary, and a Tripoli man, wanted on a warrant to finish his sentenced jail time, have been taken into custody.


On Tuesday (May 21), 34 year old Zachary Smith of Oelwein was arrested and was taken to the Bremer County jail in Waverly, on a Fayette County warrant for Burglary-3rd Degree. Smith was transferred to the Fayette County jail in West Union, where he was being held on $5,000 cash bond, pending his court appearance.

And 24 year old Austin Halstead-Clark of Tripoli was taken into custody Tuesday, by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, and held on a five day mittimus, for failing to serve jail time as ordered by the courts. He was also wanted on a warrant for Failure to Appear for a child support hearing.
