Two people are recovering from separate accidents that happened at the same time in Linn County.

At 4:05pm Monday, Linn County emergency workers were called to a motorcycle accident in Fairfax. 66 year old Douglas Fuller of Walford, was driving south on Williams Blvd. He could not stop for the vehicle in front of him who was waiting to make a left turn, so he took to the ditch where he struck a pole that flipped his motorcycle. Fuller, who was not wearing a helmet, was aircared to University Hospitals in Iowa City, with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries. The accident is still under investigation.

At the same time, at 4:05pm Monday, Linn County Deputies along with the State Patrol and Center Point emergency workers, were sent to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Lewis Access Road and the on-ramp to northbound I-380, on the south edge of Center Point. A car driven by 62 year old William Kester of Walker, made a left turn in front of an oncoming vehicle driven by 48 year old Jennifer Campbell of Center Point. The vehicles crashed head-on, and ended up in the ditch. Kester was taken to St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids with non-life threatening injuries. Campbell refused treatment for minor injuries. Kester is being cited for the accident.
