Surprise Shut Down from Popular Cedar Falls Brewery

It’s the end of an era for one Cedar Valley favorite.

Earlier this month, officials from the microbrewery, Lark Brewing made the call to cease operations at their Cedar Falls location.

“This comes as a surprise to some, a relief to some, a neener-neener to a couple, and a big bummer to others.”

The brewery closed up on Sunday, August 20th. Initially, the business simply cut back its days of operation “temporarily”, according to their social media.

Then about a week later the owners shared the news that they would be “ceasing operations” at their location at College Square Mall.

Lark Brewing has been based out of the College Square Mall for the past several years. According to reports, the microbrewery opened in October of 2016 in the lower level of Beck’s. This was where the tasting room was initially set up.

We have reached out to officials at Lark Brewing and have yet to hear a response.

There is no word on whether or not Lark Brewing will continue any of its operations in the future. We will keep you updated if any additional details are made available.

The Facebook page says that Lark Brewing is “permanently closed”.

"We would have never made this journey without you all and without the relationships we've somehow stumbled in to along the way. The story of Lark has never been our story to share, but we can revel in the friendships that have lasted us," officials said on social media.
