Authorities have released the name of the man killed in a Christmas day shooting at a rural Waterloo home.

Black Hawk County sheriff's officials identified the victim as 43-year-old Chad Buck. They said Buck lived at 1347 E. Airline Highway, the home where the shooting occurred around 4:30 PM Friday.

In a press release early Saturday, sheriff's officials said the shooting happened following an argument between family members. According to authorities, Buck was pronounced dead at Waterloo hospital after being shot by another man.

The shooting remains under investigation.

Officials have not yet identified the other man involved in the shooting. They also have not announced any arrests in the case.

According to authorities, no other information will be released pending further investigation and the results of an autopsy. Sheriff's officials said the Iowa Medical Examiner's Office in Ankeny will perform the autopsy this week.
