Waterloo police have arrested a third person on charges connected to a convenience store robbery in the city early Monday morning (March 26, 2016).

Elijah Lewis, 16, is charged as an adult with second-degree robbery. He was taken into on Tuesday, a day after Charles Allen III and Kamarious Jenkins, both 18, were arrested on similar charges for the same crime.

Officers took Lewis into custody after responding to a disorderly conduct incident at Walmart, 1334 Flammang Dr., just after 1 AM Tuesday. According to authorities, the suspects left Walmart before police arrived. They were located about 90 minutes later in the area of W. 9th and Washington streets in Waterloo.

The vehicle matched one seen near Kwik Star, 1105 Cedar Bend St., at the time of the robbery, police said.

According to authorities, two masked men entered the convenience store around 2:30 AM Monday. They demanded money from clerk, but didn't display any weapons. The suspects fled Kwik Star with an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported.

Lewis allegedly acted as a lookout during the crime.
