Dickens stood just 4 feet, 11 inches tall, but the magnitude of his contribution to country music was positively giant.

The country singer and songwriter was as famous for his novelty songs and his fashion sense as he was for his stature (he stood 4'11" tall, hence his stage name).

Dickens may have been small in stature -- he was only 4 feet, 11 inches -- but his presence was larger than life.

On Nov. 6, 1948, Little Jimmy Dickens became a member of the Grand Ole Opry.
