Semi Hauling Anhydrous Collides with Pickup on Highway 20
An accident involving a pickup and a semi hauling anhydrous on Highway 20, put three people in the hospital.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, it happened at about 8am Wednesday (April 17), east of Farley at the intersection with Hartbecke Road.
A pickup driven by 53 year old Philip Brown of Farley, turned left onto Highway 20, and was rear-ended by a semi driven by 57 year old Jerry Radke of Dubuque.
The pickup rolled over into a ditch; the semi tractor and trailer, jackknifed and came to rest in the median.
The anhydrous tank did not leak, but a hazmat unit from Dubuque was called as a precaution.
Both drivers, as well as a passenger, 19 year old Nicholas Knipper of Earlville, were treated at Finley Hospital in Dubuque.
The accident remains under investigation, and charges are pending.
