When it comes to winning volleyball matches in the Missouri Valley Conference, no coach has had more success than Bobbi Petersen.

The long-time leader of UNI's program reached a milestone Sunday afternoon, becoming the winningest coach in league history. Petersen recorded her 510th career victory when the Panthers won at Evansville 25-21, 25-20, 21-25, 25-23. With the 3-1 decision, Petersen surpassed former Missouri State coach Marissa Stokes as the MVC's all-time wins leader.

This is Petersen's 21st season leading her alma mater. During her tenure, she has guided UNI to 15 NCAA Tournament appearances, nine Missouri Valley Conference regular season titles and nine MVC tournament crowns. Petersen. a Dike native, has been named MVC Coach of the Year six times (2006, 09, 10, 11, 13, 19) and two of UNI's NCAA Tournament berths ended with appearances in the Sweet 16.

Petersen now owns a 510-167 career mark following the Panthers' four-set win over the Purple Aces. Emily Holterhaus ended the day with a team-high 15 kills and 12 digs. Kaylissa Arndorfer finished with 11 kills and Carly Spies added 10.

UNI completes its two-match series at Evansville Monday afternoon.
