Oelwein Police Make Drug Arrest, Investigate Vandalism

The Oelwein Police Department has arrested an Oelwein man on an outstanding warrant, involving illegal drugs.

Shortly after 11pm Saturday (Nov. 30), 34 year old Jason Nuehring was taken into custody following an incident in the 200 block of 1st Street SE. Nuehring was wanted on a Fayette County warrant for a probation violation; the original charge was Possession of a Controlled Substance, 2nd Offense.

Oelwein Police are investigating several vandalism incidents. The criminal mischief incidents were reported Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, on 8th Avenue NW, West Charles Street, 1st Street SW, and 2nd Avenue NW.

And an Oelwein man is being cited for Failure to Abate his property as ordered. The property is owned by 56 year old Jeffery Friis, and is located in the 200 block of 5th Avenue NE. The original abatement was served last month (November).
