The annual 'May Waterloo Days' celebration kicks off Wednesday night with the Waterloo Bucks and fireworks. The festival runs June 7-11, 2017.

Officials for this year's 'My Waterloo Days' festival are promising a new look to the city celebration. Their goal is to show that Waterloo a great place to live, work, play & visit. There are new events and new venues, but despite the changes, it will still be a great family outing in the community.

The five-day festival starts Wednesday at Riverfront Stadium with the Waterloo Bucks. Show your MWD button to get a $1.00 off you ticket that night. Plus, after the game, take in the fireworks extravaganza.

One of the new events is Thursday's 'Movie on the Cedar'. Come and watch the movie 'Sing' on a big screen at the RiverLoop Amphitheater. The movie starts at 8:00 PM. Before the movie, the Waterloo Municipal Band will host a free concert starting at 6:00 PM.

Have you ever heard of 'Bubble Soccer'? If not, you can check it out first hand on Saturday during the MWD Bubble Soccer tournament. It takes place at the Cedar Valley Sportsplex. The youth tourney is slated for 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM, and the adult tourney runs from 1:30 PM to 6:30 PM.

The RiverLoop Amphitheater will host another new event on Saturday night, 'Music on the Cedar'. Live music on the RiverLoop stage from 4:00 PM until 11:30 PM. There will also be a lighted boat parade at 9:00 PM.

The 'classics' will still be a part of this year's party. People in the Park and the parade are the featured entertainment Friday night. Fireworks fire off Saturday night at 10:00 PM at the RiverLoop Amphitheater, and the Waterloo Waterhawks close out the five days Sunday with another outstanding show.
