Local Woman Busted for Drugs after Traffic Stop

An Oelwein woman has been arrested on a drug charge after being pulled over in a traffic stop.

Just before midnight Sunday (June 3), Oelwein police pulled a vehicle over in the 200 block of 2nd Avenue SE. An occupant in the car, 48 year old Kristy Heidt, was arrested on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

An Oelwein man was arrested early Sunday after police received a report of an erratic driver in the 300 block of West Charles. 48 year old Daniel Meaney was taken into custody on a charge of Operating While Intoxicated.

Police have arrested an Oelwein man on an outstanding warrant from Chickasaw County. 37 year old Justin Kuennen was wanted for a parole violation on the original charge of Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. Kuennen was arrested in the 500 block of Rock Island Road.

And Oelwein Police are investigating a burglary. At around 7pm Saturday, police were called out to a break-in in the 300 block of 4th Street NW. The investigation continues.
