Waterloo Police are investigating the city's latest shooting, in which a man, who apparently was not the intended target, was wounded.

At about 10:30pm Thursday, 36 year old Moriono Deshon Keys of Waterloo was taken to Covenant Hospital, to be treated for a gunshot wound to his lower leg.

Shortly after 10pm, witnesses told police they had heard gunfire in the area of Frances Drive and Park View Boulevard.

Keys was apparently outside when someone fired shots at a nearby apartment building. Keys was wounded in the calf of one of his legs. He sought medical help a short time later.

Police did find several shell casings at the scene.

A condition report on Keys was not available, however information from Waterloo Police indicates his injuries were not life-threatening.
